The Job
After completing company training, passing a check ride, and flying the line some to understand our operation, you will receive training to become a company instructor. As an instructor, you will conduct ground and flight training to existing and new-hire pilots. Upon demonstration of success as an instructor, becoming a company Check Airman will be the next step. If you and GTA are a good fit for one another, a transition to Chief Pilot is preferred.
GTA is a well-established, family-owned business with ~35 employees looking for someone that wants to stick around and see the entire team succeed in the long term. Historically, pilots with 121/135 experience that enjoy small GA and want to semi-retire have worked well in this position. Of course, we understand people with different backgrounds may also be good candidates, but starting with that experience is a big advantage.
If you meet the qualifications and are considering this position, please read up on our company, learn a little about what GTA does, and email us at careers@gtaair.com to start the conversation and let us know why you are interested in the instructor position.
